Manitou Springs:
July 4th The Manitou Springs will be having their fireworks display pending any change in weather or fire conditions. Donations to the MSFD for putting on the event are greatly appreciated! Currently it is on schedule to take place and the actual location will be dependant upon conditions. As we get closer to the 4th of July you may get updated information by contacting either the MSFD at 719 685-1444 or The Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce at 719 685-5089
Friday July 3rd Fort Carson Independence Day celebration: Fun run begins at 8 a.m. from the Special Events Center. Registration begins at 6 a.m. Free activities begin at 4 p.m. in Ironhorse Park, including horseshoe pitching, pie-eating and watermelon-eating contests, music, food and beverages. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. Events open to anyone who has identification card access to Fort Carson.
A family Fourth:
10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site, 30 th Street at Gateway Road. Music, scavenger hunt, horseshoes, carnival games and readings of the Declaration of Independence, Gettysburg Address and America the Beautiful. Admission: $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and teens, $1 for children ages 6-12. Military families admitted free with ID, 578-6777.
